Indian Historical Timeline

Indian Historical texts Vedas,Upanishads and Puranas state the age of the Universe is 4.32 Billion years and we are currently at 1.96^th billion year. Even the scientists confirm the age of the current Universe is around 2 Billion years. Our Indian texts says the universal time is much faster than the time at, universal creator Brahma’s world. The astronomical reason based on the rotational nature and repetition of our universe in comparison to that of the other worlds as grouped in Indian texts.

One Kalpa period as defined is the 12 hours period during day time which is an active period at the creator God Brahmma’s world. Two Kalpas (Day & Night) make 24 hours period, while one Kalpa is the day time and the active period the other Kalpa is resting night period. Life of Bramma, the creator life is 100 years of 360 days for each year.

The active, day time, Kalpa is of 1000 Mayahugs grouped as the periods of 14 Manus’. Each Manu period is of 71 Mahayugs and makes the total of 994 Mahayugs and balance 6 Mahayugs are the settling period. Complete one Mahayug duration is 43,20,000 years of 4 Yugs viz., Kritha Yug or Sathya Yug, Dretha Yug, Dwabara Yug and Kali Yug.

So far we have completed 6 Manu’s period and currently are into 7^th Manu under the ruler Vishwavasu. Each Manu’s period is of 71×43,20,000 = 30,67,20,000 years and we are at 12,05,33,122^nd year of 7^th Manu ie., 5124^th year in Kaliyug.  It is astonishing to observe the precision of calculation and the depth of deep rooted astronomical knowledge prevalent in those periods that are falling in place even today.

The lives on earth will cease to exist at the end of 14th Manu period along with a complete destruction of the world. After a gap period during night time, fresh lives start at the beginning of Kalpas’ day time.
